Our Accomplishments

My Hometown Carrollton strives to create a sense of community by inspiring local support & providing downtown promotion.

Since starting our organization last year, 

we have accomplished many tasks for our community:

-Hired our first Executive Director & opened our office on the square.

-Completed NEW TREX Plastic Recycling Program.

-Installed new urban vase planters and flowers in brick planters.

-Hosted three Spruce Up the Square Volunteer Days.

(cleaned windows, repaired broken benches, decorated planter boxes, picked up trash)

-Coordinated light pole banners with CMU and Chamber of Commerce.

-Awarded MFA Oil grant to provide locally made vendor booths. 

-Won the MO Humanities Feature Five Small Town Showcase competition.

-Hosted The Community Presentation with MO Main Street Connection and their team of national downtown design and business advisors for visual design ideas, historic preservation techniques and economic vitality strategies. 

-Sippin' on the Square fundraising events.

-Planning a new Holiday Homes Tour Tradition.

-Hosted the second annual Flip the Switch lighting event at the Christmas parade.

-Hosted a community Town Hall event.

-Completed a community survey with needs for downtown.

-Hosted first annual Beer Stein Holding Contest and Wine Pull fundraising events at the Sippin' on the Square event.

-Started the "Flip the Switch" community tradition of the NEW Mayor's Christmas Tree on the square.
